InclusiReads helps families, teachers, and readers find inclusive books by topic and age, from picture books through adult.
What we are
InclusiReads is a curated discovery guide for inclusive books, from picture books through adult. We sort titles by topic (disability, LGBTQ+, race, immigration, belonging, and the rest) and by audience, then add a short note and a conversation prompt so you aren’t staring at a cover wondering where to start.
We aren’t a publisher, a bookstore, or a school-district list. We’re a small editorial project: we read, we tag, we write notes, and we link out so you can buy from independent bookstores and other retailers. We don’t process payments. Adult-format titles are a small reviewed pilot, not a second catalog we’re pretending to have finished.
Who it's for
Families, teachers, librarians, teen and adult readers, and anyone building a shelf where every reader can see themselves — and meet someone new. The website is meant for adults choosing books, even when the books themselves are for children.

How we choose books
We list a title when the work itself helps a reader find someone like them, or meet someone new, without treating identity as a lesson plan. Most of the catalog is still picture books through young adult; adult titles are a small reviewed pilot, not a second catalog.
When we choose, we look at who is centered on the page, how they’re treated, and whether the book is actually useful at home, in a classroom, or for a teen or adult reader. Age labels follow the book’s format (picture book, middle grade, young adult, adult), not a guess about who you are.
Buy buttons go to Bookshop.org and Amazon, and we may earn a commission. That never decides which books appear here.
What tags mean
Topics such as disability, LGBTQ+, Latine, or immigration describe what the book is about, or who appears in it. They are a finding aid, not a claim about the author, and not a guarantee of quality. We do not use an "Own Voices" badge.
Creator identity
We do not infer an author's race, disability, sexuality, gender, faith, or migration history from a name, photo, cover, or narrative voice. If a page mentions a creator's identity, it comes from public self-identification or publisher materials they have approved. If we cannot source it, we leave it out.
How we write curator notes
Notes on each book page are meant to start a conversation, not stand in for a review. A few titles have longer, hand-tuned notes. Cover copy is usually from the publisher.
Corrections
If a tag is wrong, a note is misleading, or we have shown identity we should not have, email hello@inclusireads.com. We will correct the listing. One book cannot speak for a whole community; we will not pretend it can.
